PhD in Medicine, University of Santiago de Compostela, 1985, Degree of Master in Orthodontics from University of Valencia, Spain. Chairman of Orthodontics, Department of Stomatology since 1994 and Director of the Masters Programme of Orthodontics since 1996 at the University of Santiago de Compostela. 

Grants: 12 awards and professional honours. 

Awards: ‘Rodriguez Abaitua’ of the Royal Medicine Academy of Spain. Research award of the Spanish Dental Council (Consejo General de Odontólogos y Estomatólogos de España). Scientific and/or clinical adviser of the: Spain and Galicia Government, Spanish Dental Council, Spanish Dental Foundation, etc. 

Member of the EOS, SEDO, WFO, International College of Dentists, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and founding Member of different Spanish orthodontic societies (ONO, AESOR, etc) and on the editorial board of five dental/orthodontic journals. 

Author or co-author of 14 dental and orthodontic textbooks, 110 orthodontic articles and 145 Congress papers and posters. 

Specialist of temporomandibular disorders (TMD).

2005 Chairman of the German Association of Orthodontics in M. Franconia / Bavaria.

2018 Top orthodontist award (Focus Magazine, Germany).

1996 EU/USA patent for the “SUS? / Sabbagh Universal Spring”

Lecturer at the european academy of dental education in Nuremberg, and several national & international universities. Consultant and referent for Forestadent, Dentaurum, 3M Unitek, & Teledenta.

Member of the editorial board of Quintessenz publishing, and the scientific board of IOS & AEO in Prague. Various awards for international outstanding merits.

Since 1991 various publications, 750+ seminars and lectures worldwide about: 
- Temporomandibular disorders (TMD), the „AquaSplint concept“. 
- Noncompliance orthodontic, SUS?, Herbst appliance, & Tad’s. 
- Modern adult orthodontics / troubleshooting.

In 1977 he developed Twin Blocks.

In 2004 in cooperation with Ortho Organizers Dr Clark designed invisible TransForce lingual appliances for interceptive treatment by arch development from mixed dentition to adult therapy. 

In 2008 he received an award from the International Functional Association for personal outstanding international service to functionalism and orthodontics, having presented many courses in 50 countries over a period of 35 years. 

In 2010 he completed a thesis on “New Horizons in Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics” for a D.D.Sc.
