Dr. Lawrence Gottesman is a nationally recognized lecturer and author. He has presented many times at prestigious dental meetings and local dental study groups. Some of the more notable engagements are listed below: – Greater New York Dental Meeting (2010, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015). – Arnett Orthognathic Surgery Forum (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2017). – University of Florida Facial Pain Center. Dr. Gottesman received his dental education at New York University College of Dentistry, graduating in 1977 and maintains a private practice in Rockville Centre, NY. Dr. Gottesman has served on the teaching faculty of the Lenox Hill Hospital Dental Service and has also been on the faculty of the New York University College of Dentistry TMD/Orofacial Pain program where he held the coveted appointment as Director of Neuropathic Pain in the Advanced Orofacial Pain/TMD Graduate teaching program. Together with Dr. G. William Arnett and Dr. Stephen B. Milam, Dr. Gottesman has co-authored the acclaimed two-part article, “Progressive Mandibular Retrusion— Idiopathic Condylar Resorption” which was published in the American Journal of Orthodontics in July and August of 1996. Dr. Gottesman’s most recent publications in the November and December, 2014 issues of Dentistry Today, entitled, “TMD Rediscovered: A New Paradigm, Parts I and II” has set a new industry standard for understanding how temporomandibular joint disorders are linked to infections and hemostatic abnormalities. The TMD E-Guide Questionnaire was assembled by Dr. Gottesman after 39 years of clinical experience and over a decade of active literary research. This all-inclusive form is an integral part of a complicated algorithm developed by Dr. Gottesman.
