El desplazamiento lateral mandibular (MLD) se caracteriza comúnmente por tener una desviación del mentón de la línea media facial, un desplazamiento de la mandíbula hacia un lado, la presencia de una mordida cruzada en la región posterior, asimetría facial, así como una discrepancia esquelética de la línea media.
