Malka Ashkenazi DMD

DR. Malka Ashkenazi graduated her dental studies at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem in 1979. In 1987 she completed with excellency her specialization in pediatric dentistry in Tel Aviv University. Immediately after the specialization, she moved to Houston Texas in United States for three years of post-doctoral fellowship.

 

She was involved in clinical instruction of dental students and post-graduate students in pediatric dentistry.  Besides, DR. Ashkenazi lectures on a variety of topics in pediatric dentistry, to dental students, post graduate students in orthodontics. DR. Ashkenazi is the mentor of many DMD theses and basic research of post graduate students.

 

To perform her research studies, she received several competitive grants, including a grant from the chief scientist of Ministry of  Heath. She published over 80 scientific papers, in pediatric dentistry and in orthodontic, many dealing with Pain and Anxiety in children, Traumatic injuries in children, Oral hygiene techniques in children, Gingivitis and periodontal disease in children and Infection control in dentistry. In 2005 she was nominated as Senior Lecturer in pediatric dentistry at Tel Aviv University. On January 2020 she was appointed as director of post graduate program in Pediatric Dentistry , Tel Hashomer Medical Center, Israel.

 

She is a member of the National Board Examination Committee in Pediatric dentistry, and during 2009-2011 she served as the chairman of the Israel Society of Dentistry for Children. She presented in many international conferences and serves as a reviewer in several international journals in pediatric dentistry.
