Former Professor and Chairman, Department of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry, New York University College of Dentistry. Private multispecialty interdisciplinary practice limited to periodontology, prosthodontics, and implant dentistry in New York City.

 

Author of more than 250 peer-reviewed articles on perio-prosthodontics and implant dentistry — among the most cited researchers in the field worldwide. Co-author of four textbooks, including The Single Tooth Implant (Quintessence, 2020, with Dr. Stephen J. Chu). Pioneered foundational research in the biology and esthetics of the gingival architecture around implants, including the widely cited "papilla preservation" guidelines and critical biologic dimension principles for implant placement. Has a dedicated wing in his name at New York University College of Dentistry.
