Dentist, clinical researcher, and academic. Associate Professor and International Coordinator, Section of Orofacial Pain and Jaw Function, Department of Dentistry and Oral Health, Aarhus University, Aarhus, Denmark (since September 2021; Assistant/Associate Professor since 2008). Member, Scandinavian Center for Orofacial Neurosciences (SCON).
Research encompasses the full spectrum of orofacial pain and dental sleep medicine: temporomandibular disorders, bruxism, experimental muscle pain models, sleep apnea and upper airway function, and psychophysical pain mechanisms. Former PostDoc at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm (2009 — acidic saline experimental craniofacial pain models) and Aalborg University (2008 — experimental myofascial glutamate-evoked pain injections). International collaborator on consensus guidelines for sleep bruxism EMG diagnosis, guideline development for the DC/TMD classification, and dental sleep medicine education standards. Coordinator of Aarhus University's international exchange programs for dentistry students and contributor to the department's digital transformation. Author of peer-reviewed publications in orofacial pain, bruxism, and sleep-disordered breathing research.
