With an increasing use of Cone Beam Computed Tomography for dentomaxillofacial diagnosis, concern arises regarding the radiation risks associated with this imaging modality, especially in children. Research evidence concerning CBCT indications in children is still limited.
On the other hand the existing literature is inconsistent in terms of recommendations for dose reduction strategies, such as ultra-low-dose and low-dose-protocols.

Even worse, there is only sparse evidence about the relationship between optimized image dose and image quality.
This webinar tries to make an approach towards indication-oriented and patient-specific recommendations regarding the main cone-beam CT applications in the pediatric field.
