This lecture is the first of two on Interdisciplinary treatment. It elaborates on the advantages and importance of close collaboration between practitioners in interdisciplinary treatment and outlines a framework for such treatment. There is discussion on the analysis of the aesthetics and the importance of an in depth analysis. Smile arc protection is discussed.
