CV

ENT surgeon and sleep surgeon with a sub-specialty focus on tongue-tie, upper airway obstruction, and obstructive sleep apnea. Director of Sleep Surgery, The Breathe Institute, Los Angeles, California — an interdisciplinary airway center co-founded with myofunctional therapists and dental and orthodontic specialists. Private practice in Beverly Hills, California, treating both pediatric and adult patients.

Clinical expertise covers the full spectrum from minimally invasive functional frenuloplasty (tongue-tie and lip-tie release) to nasal surgery (septoplasty, turbinate reduction, Vivaer nasal valve remodeling), palatal procedures (tonsillectomy), maxillary skeletal expansion (MSE), and maxillomandibular advancement (MMA) jaw surgery for severe obstructive sleep apnea — a uniquely broad surgical range enabling a truly graduated, stepwise treatment approach. Developed original functional assessment and grading protocols for lingual frenulum restriction — the Zaghi Lingual Frenulum Protocol — now used by clinicians worldwide. Author and co-author of 97+ peer-reviewed publications in the fields of neuroscience, head and neck surgery, and sleep-disordered breathing. International invited lecturer, author, and journal reviewer on diagnosis and management of sleep-disordered breathing and tethered oral tissue disorders.

MD, Harvard Medical School. Residency in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery (ENT), UCLA. Sleep Surgery Fellowship, Stanford University.
