Everything you need to know about the digital protocols for manufacturing of restorations is covered in this office course by Dr. Marco Ferrari. 

 

You will learn and practice:

 

– preparations for full and partial crowns

– working with intraoral scanner

– manufacturing of a single crown via digital protocols

– complex rehabilitation of the oral cavity in a digital format

– printing prosthetics on a 3D printer.

 

Day 1

 

Theory

 

Preparations: preparation for partial and full crowns, horizontal and vertical margins, mock up, indications and advantages, combinations between types of preparations and types of impressions (analog and digital).

 

Hands on

 

Preparations: preparation for partial and full crowns, horizontal and vertical margins, mock up, indications and advantages, combinations between types of preparations and types of impressions (analog and digital).

 

Day 2

 

Theory

 

– Digital prosthetics, from single restoration to complex rehabilitation

– IntraOral Scanner (IOS): concepts, limitations, advantages, applications, type of scanners, complete digital workflow and hybrid digital workflow.

 

Hands on with IOS on patients.

 

Day 3

 

Theory

 

– Prosthetic materials for digital workflow

– 3D printer: how to use, when, advantages, how 3D printer can help on daily practice.

 

Hands on with 3D printer.

 

Day 4

 

Theory

 

– Digital workflow for dentures (Prof. Alessio Casucci)

– Lab scanner: characteristics, how to use, how to design a clinical case (digital wax up)

– Milling machine, indications for chair side CAD/CAM procedures materials and techniques.

Prosthodontist with clinical expertise in complete removable dentures, implant-supported prosthetics, and digital prosthetic workflows. Currently Maître Assistant at the University of Geneva, Faculty of Dental Medicine. Previously Lecturer and Professor in the International Master in Prosthodontics at the University of Siena.

 

Extensive academic and clinical focus on the convergence of digital technology and full-arch rehabilitation, including digital workflows for conventional and implant-retained complete dentures, CAD/CAM fabrication, and prosthetic material science. Co-author of the book Aesthetics and Function in Complete Denture: Digital Perspectives. Author of papers in international peer-reviewed journals. Co-teacher of national and international courses on complete prosthetics with Alessandro Ielasi since 2013.
