Notions on the “functional gnathological approach”: from clinical diagnosis to instrumental confirmation, four simple steps for patient classification in a multidisciplinary context. Introduction to pre-prosthetic bite in asymptomatic, dysfunctional and sports patients: ethical considerations. Practical protocols to collaborate with osthepoath.
10.00 - 11.00
Instrumental examinations: practical protocols for dentistry. Electromyography, stabilometry, condilography, kinesiography, notions. Indications and limitations of instrumental evaluation.
11.30 - 12.30
The importance of the face bow and the articulator.
12.30 - 13.30
Dealing with complex cases that require modification of the initial DVO: ways of de-programming and finding the occlusal relationship: wax ups, the Easy-bite in the preliminary phase, Lucìa’s anterior gig, the Kois deprogrammer, the anterior bite-plane and the anterior leaf gauge.

The concept of muscular clinical malocclusion, associated with postural anomaly, clinical visit among course members.
16.30 - 17.30
Assessing and setting guides and the vertical dimension in prostheses, setting the articulator, difference between the various types of articulator and face bow, practical demonstration.
18.00 - 19.30
Course members will take the impressions among themselves and will register the face bow and the occlusion, to prepare different types of bite.

9.00 - 13.00
Possible review and follow up of the first day’s theory-practice topics. Practical stabilometric, electromyographic, kinesiographic and assiographic trials (live practical exercises including among course members); notions on assiography and digital face bow.
14.00 - 19.00
Balancing the occlusion correctly: consignment and balancing of bites made by course members, with suitable bur kits, different types of occlusal papers, instrumental sup.

Gnatologist, sports dentist, and clinical practitioner at Studio Skysmile (Milan), associated with Professor Cristian Coraini. Referent of the Sports Odontostomatology Service and Craniomandibular Biomechanics at the Italian Stomatological Institute (ISI) of Milan. Clinical focus encompasses craniomandibular disorders, occlusal rehabilitation, sports mouthguard design, and the interplay between bite function and athletic performance.
Co-winner of the International Occlusion Award at the 15th ICP World Congress (2013) alongside Professor Cristian Coraini and dental technician Luca Vailati — one of the field's most prestigious accolades. Active contributor to the Turin Winter Paralympic Games and Giro d'Italia cycling team's dental performance programs. Author of numerous peer-reviewed publications; co-author of the textbook Dentistry and Sport, published by Edi-Ermes.
