Orthodontist in private practice, inventor, and pioneer of 3D metal printed orthodontic appliances. Private practice, Belp, Switzerland. Honorary Lecturer, University of Sydney, Australia. Faculty Member, University of Maryland, USA.
Beginning in 2014, Dr. Graf developed the first fully digital protocol for fabricating metal orthodontic appliances — starting with the Hyrax rapid palatal expander — directly from intraoral scans using CAD/CAM design and selective laser melting (SLM/3D metal printing), with no physical impressions or stone models required. He subsequently extended the technique to the Herbst appliance, lingual arches, bone-borne expanders, habit-breaking appliances, and custom bracket systems.
Co-author (with Nour E. Tarraf and Neal D. Kravitz) of multiple peer-reviewed publications on 3D metal printed orthodontic laboratory appliances, including articles in the Journal of the World Federation of Orthodontists. International lecturer on digital orthodontics and 3D printing; speaker at major congresses including the AAO Annual Session and SFOPA Congress 2025 (Marseille).
BDS(Hons), MDSc(Hons), PhD, MOrth RCSEd, MRACDS (Ortho)

He is the past president of the Australasian Society of Lingual Orthodontics. He is also the first and only Australian to become a Titular member of the European Society of Lingual Orthodontics and an Active member of the World Society of Lingual Orthodontics.
Among his special interests are the use of digital technology in orthodontics, early orthodontics and growth modification treatment and he recently completed a PhD on the application of skeletal anchorage in maxillary growth modification for growing children.
He has lectured nationally and internationally and has number of scientific publications.
In his free time Nour like to spend time with his daughters Hana and Maryam. He loves sport and after years of doing triathlon has taken up the new challenge of Nordic biathlon in the winter.
