First recipient of the inaugural Bud Tarson Award, granted by the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP, 2005) — one of the AAP's premier recognitions for outstanding clinical research in periodontics. Author and co-author of multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters with emphasis on periodontal tissue management around teeth and implants. Co-author of the books Reconstrução Tecidual Estética (2009, published in Portuguese, Spanish, and Italian) and PerioImplantodontia Estética (2016, published in Portuguese, English, and Spanish) — both recognized as key references in aesthetic perioplastic surgery in the Portuguese-speaking world.
