World authority on Partial Extraction Therapy (PET) — a paradigm-shifting group of techniques that preserve alveolar bone and soft tissue contour by retaining a fragment of the natural tooth root in its socket at the time of implant placement, instead of extracting the root entirely. Pioneer and co-developer of the Socket Shield technique and sole developer of the Pontic Shield procedure (published 2016) — an extension of PET for pontic sites in implant-supported bridges. Author of peer-reviewed publications in major implantology and periodontal journals on PET, socket shield outcomes, immediate implant placement, and soft tissue management. Expert in autogenous bone grafting from the palate, advanced GBR, and periodontal plastic surgery. Instrumental in developing the postgraduate Implantology Diploma programs at the Universities of Stellenbosch and the Western Cape.
