Full immersion course on interceptive orthodontics in children and teenagers! During the 4-day seminar, you will learn:


– fundamental growth concepts from leading researchers

– developmental stages of occlusion and stomatognathic system

– protocols for functional diagnostics of children and teenagers depending on their age

– protocols for working with posture and airways.


Take your clinical cases to this training! You will have the opportunity to discuss them with the doctor and colleagues from different parts of the world.

DAY 1

Occlusions of the child and adolescent:


– The deciduous dentition: anatomical and functional aspects

– The early mixed dentition: anatomical and functional aspects

– The late mixed dentition: anatomical and functional aspects

– Growth of the condyle, development of the TMJ, growth of the mandible

– Case studies, solution-oriented case discussions.


DAY 2

Cranio-mandibular development:


– Compensation mechanism and growth

– The craniomandibular growth and denture frame: high and low angle 

– Functional impact of crossbite malocclusion

– Case studies, solution-oriented case discussions: early onset of compensation mechanism, treatment strategy in different craniofacial growth pattern and in crossbite malocclusion

– Clefts of the lips, the jaw, the palate: functional impact

– Early loss of deciduous teeth

– Breast versus bottle feeding; pacifiers; thumb-sucking; oral habits.

– Frontal Ceph and facial/dental asymmetry

– Interceptive, multi-phase VS late single-phase orthodontic therapy

– Case studies, solution-oriented case discussions.


DAY 3

Therapeutic and prophylactic strategies:


– In which situations must intervention be made?

– Treatment strategies: recommendations, review of the literature

– Orthodontic concepts – removeable, fixed – in the child and adolescent: Benefits, weaknesses, historical overview: what has changed today?

– Articulator, Articulator-Mounting and Supra-Occlusals: how, when, how?

– Symmetrical and Asymmetrical Orthodontic Functions-Onlays

– Articulator with Protrusive inserts for indirect fabricated Supra-Occlusals

– Case studies, solution-oriented case discussions: mandibular active positioning with Supra-Occlusals

– Case studies, solution-oriented case discussions.


DAY 4

Development of occlusal functions:


– Speech, chewing, bruxing

– Chewing test and treatment needs

– Bruxing сhildren

– Interdisciplinary aspect: speech therapy, logopedic interventions, myofunctional training

– Case studies, solution-oriented case discussions: Chewing Test and BruxChecker Analysis.

Professor at Steinbeis University Berlin, Germany (appointed 2011). Founder and CEO of OREHAB MINDS GmbH, Stuttgart, Germany (since January 2019), a company focused on digital functional diagnostics and development of advanced diagnostic systems for masticatory function. Former Director of the BID (Biomedical Interdisciplinary Dentistry) Transfer Institute at Steinbeis University Berlin (2008-2021). Specialist in functional dentistry, gnathology, and interdisciplinary treatment of craniomandibular disorders. Maintains private practice at Zahnmedizin im Rudolfinerhaus, Vienna, Austria, as Research Fellow focusing on clinical studies in craniomandibular disorders, clinical functional analysis, and occlusion medicine.

 

Over 40 years of combined clinical, academic, and research experience in functional dentistry and temporomandibular disorders. Expert in systematic functional analysis (SFA), condylography, clinical functional analysis, splint therapy, and full-mouth occlusal rehabilitation based on the renowned Slavicek Concept developed by his father, Professor Rudolf Slavicek. Pioneer in developing digital diagnostic technologies including the Orehab Condylocomp LR system for precise condylar movement registration and Freecorder Bluefox for digital jaw tracking. Research focuses on TMJ biomechanics, bruxism, occlusal design, and cybernetic approaches to stomatognathic system disorders.

 

Honorary Member of the Romanian Dental and Maxillo-Facial Prosthetic Society (2019). Honorary Member of the Italian Association of Gnathology (AIG, 2017). Visiting Professor at First Moscow State Medical University (I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University), Russia (2013, 2014-2018). Honorary Professor at Ukrainian Medical Stomatological Academy (2012). Permanent Member of the University Council, Steinbeis University Berlin. Former Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Stomatology and Occlusion Medicine (2008-2010). Author of over 50 peer-reviewed publications in international journals on gnathology, TMJ disorders, functional analysis, and occlusion. Co-author of recent publications including "Occlusion and TMJ: Systematic Approach to Oral Splints" in Stomatological Education Journal (2024). International lecturer teaching the Slavicek Concept worldwide with extensive courses in Europe, Asia, and Middle East on condylography, functional wax-up, interdisciplinary dentistry, and splint therapy. Director of comprehensive 2-year modular programs on "Interdisciplinary Dentistry in the Slavicek Concept" in Vienna, teaching systematic diagnostics and full occlusal rehabilitation.

 

MD (Doktor der gesamten Heilkunde - Doctor of General Medicine) from University of Vienna, Medical School, Austria (1978-1984, graduated 1984). DMD (Facharzt für Zahn-, Mund- und Kieferheilkunde - Specialist in Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine) from University of Vienna, School of Dentistry (1985-1986). Diploma in Clinical Research from Vienna School of Clinical Research (VSCR), University of Vienna (2009-2010). Diploma "Prüfarzt" (Clinical Investigator) from Austrian Working Group for Clinical Pharmacology (2007).
