La latero desviación mandibular, también conocida como desviación lateral de la mandíbula o desviación mandibular, se refiere a una condición en la cual la mandíbula se desplaza hacia un lado al abrir o cerrar la boca. Este desplazamiento lateral puede ser evidente durante la función mandibular, o evidenciarse a su vez en estática. Puede estar asociado con diversos trastornos oclusales y problemas en la articulación temporomandibular (ATM).

Las causas de la latero desviación mandibular pueden variar y a menudo están relacionadas con problemas en la articulación temporomandibular pero la principal causa para la desviación mandibular es el crecimiento asimétrico de las estructuras cráneo faciales, el día de hoy les mostraremos un caso clínico de un paciente con una evidente desviación mandibular que se desarrolló desde una edad muy temprana, les mostraremos el paso a paso en la planificación y el tratamiento para la corrección de la desviación mandibular.
