Description
The course will highlight 28 years of research and experience in the concept of functional dentistry. This lecturer is a famous functional orthodontist - Bakr Rabie
The topics he will elaborate on:
- Treating adolescent patients with functional orthodontic appliances
- Treating young patients with mild Class II
- Treating pathologies of pseudo-class III and elimination of functional replacements
Bakr Rabie will review the most important aspects of treatment: Diagnosis - Step by step planning - Appliances and techniques - Troubleshooting - Retention.
The lecturer is eager to grab an opportunity of introducing to our doctors the long-term results of his clinical cases and a science-based protocol he developed during the 28 years of clinical practice.
28 Years of Clinical Experience + Research Knowledge is Power.
Interceptive Orthodontics in an integral part of both the orthodontic and general practice. Orthodontic problems in young patients at the dental clinic often present as skeletal and dental discrepancies that, if not treated early, will often lead to more challenging orthodontic treatments in later years. By learning about interceptive orthodontics, you will obtain the knowledge to intercept these problems early, creating an easier course of treatment for both the practitioner and the patient.
Course Objectives
Learn the key physiological concepts behind pseudo class III malocclusion and why early correction is essential. Learn to accurately diagnose, treatment plan and confidently deliver the treatment with predictability and control. Learn the techniques and appliances available to start and finish a case with confidence, predictability, and control. Learn to use your knowledge of interceptive orthodontics to transform your practice into one with reputable and successful standing. Course Highlights Pseudo Class III Malocclusion presents among many children before pubertal growth spurt. It is a malocclusion of a dental nature that causes traumatic occlusion to erupting dentition and potentially impede the skeletal growth potential of the maxilla. It is a condition that requires immediate interceptive orthodontic treatment to eliminate trauma and to allow the proper growth of the maxilla.
In all the webinars, the following topics will be discussed:
- Diagnosis (identifying the problem)
- Treatment Planning (step by step planning)
- Techniques and appliances for correction
- Troubleshooting during treatment
- Retention
Diagnosis
Accurate diagnosis is the key in treating any pseudo class III case. Learn how to assess extra-orally, intraorally, and radiographically to formulate the pseudo class III diagnosis.
Treatment Planning
Treatment planning requires proper understanding of biomechanics of orthodontic movements to plan and apply a sequence of techniques and appliances. Learn the science of tooth movement and the formulation of an exact step-by-step treatment plan.
Appliances & Techniques
Learn the various types of appliances, techniques, and time-saving tricks that are essential to predictability and control of your treatment and its progress.
Troubleshooting
Progressing through the treatment also requires predicting and minimising unexpected movements. You will be taught how to spot them if and when they occur and more importantly, how to make adjustments for a smooth treatment.
Retention
The treatment is only as good as retaining the final result. Learn how to apply perfect retention techniques to minimise the chances of relapse.
Lesson 1.Interceptive Orthodontics: why treat early?
What to look for when having a young patient in early mixed dentition and mixed dentition? Expect your practice income to significantly increase if you took this course seriously. Simply, when you see and identify more problems to be addressed and the patient can benefit greatly by addressing these problems, I-e the more items on the menu for you to fix, the greater the business development.
Lesson 2.Functional Appliance Therapy in Growing Patients.
In this webinar, we will discuss and answer the following questions:
• Why mandibular Advancement?
• Does Degree of Advancement matter and why?
• Does mode of advancement matter and why?
• Does duration of treatment matter and why?
• What is the best way to treat Skeletal Class II in growing patients. Here we will provide an evidenced based protocol to treatment of skeletal Class II. A step by step treatment approach will be provided.
Lesson 3.Functional Appliance Therapy for the Correction of Mild Skeletal Class II in Young Adults.
A revolutionary protocol will be presented and long term follow up will be discussed. An evidenced based treatment protocol is presented in details and clinical cases are shared with the audience.
Lesson 4.Treatment Of Pseudo Class III and elimination of functional displacement.
In this segment of the course, I will teach you how to diagnose, Pseudo Class III, present the reasons behind why we should treat early? Also I will present what happens if you treat late. I will provide an evidence based protocol for the best way to treat these patients.
