Stefan Renvert

Professor Emeritus at Kristianstad University (Sweden) and one of the world's foremost clinical researchers in peri-implantitis — with over 25 years of continuous investigation into its epidemiology, risk indicators, diagnosis, and treatment outcomes. His 2018 paper co-defining peri-implant health, mucositis, and peri-implantitis for the World Workshop on the Classification of Periodontal and Peri-Implant Diseases (Journal of Periodontology / Journal of Clinical Periodontology) has been cited over 1,750 times, making it among the most influential publications in modern implant dentistry.

Author of over 200 peer-reviewed scientific publications and co-author of several textbooks and systematic reviews on peri-implant disease management. Research also encompasses oral malodor, periodontal health in older populations, and systemic associations of periodontitis. Co-author of the landmark Quintessence textbook Peri-Implantitis (with Giovanni Edoardo Salvi and Nikos Donos).
