In a rich 2-day course, you will understand the necessary theoretical basics, work out practical skills, and take part in live surgical operations!
After the course you will be able to:
– competently plan surgical interventions
– extract impacted teeth of any complexity
– perform germectomy
– apply the piezosurgical approach
– prescribe full set of postoperative procedures.

DAY 1
9.00 - 10.30
Upper jaw and mandible: hard palate, pterygopalatine fossa, internal maxillary artery, cheek (facial nerve, facial or maxillary artery, buccal fat pad, stensen’s duct), lips, mandible, buccal nerve, lingual nerve and artery, sublingual artery and gland; local anesthesia in dentistry, choosing the type of local anesthesia, factor that influence the choice of the type of anesthesia, pharmacologicals for patients with allergies, intravenous sedation surgical equipment, ergonomics in the operating room, room preparation, patient preparation, operator preparation.

Diagnostic imaging and radiological anatomy, flap design and suturing techniques.

Applications of ultrasonic waves in medicine, physics of ultrasonic waves, piezoelectric extractive techniques.

Surgery of impacted upper and lower third molars, problem related to impacted teeth, etiopathogenesis of dental inclusion, difference between impacted and retained tooth.

Hands-on training on surgery of impacted upper and lower third molars on animals models.
DAY 2

Germectomy: indications and surgical techniques; pre and post surgical pharmacology and management of patients at risk: antibiotic therapy, pain medication, intraoperative and postoperative complications (dry socket, edema, trismus, neurological complications, soft tissue laceration, fracture of roots, bone fracture).

Live surgeries: the attendees can join Prof. Cardarelli in the operating room.

Scientific Advisor to the Dental Clinic at the Department of IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital, Milan (Dean Prof. E. Gherlone). Specialist in oral surgery with practice limited to oral surgery, implantology, and periodontal surgery. Maintains practices in Milan and Isernia, Italy, and as Oral Surgeon at Dona Medical Clinic, Dubai, UAE.
Over 18 years of clinical experience since graduation in 2007. Expert in piezoelectric surgery for impacted teeth extraction, surgical anatomy and atraumatic extraction techniques, management of pathological processes in maxillofacial region using piezosurgery, complex third molar surgery, bone augmentation procedures, and advanced oral surgical protocols. Pioneer in applying piezoelectric surgical techniques for minimally invasive tooth extraction and bone surgery. Known for meticulous surgical technique and emphasis on minimizing trauma during complex extractions and bone procedures.
Author of the textbook "Piezoelectric Surgery of Impacted Teeth" (EDRA Publisher, 2020), a comprehensive reference on piezosurgical approaches to oral surgery. Author of numerous scientific publications and book chapters on oral surgery and implantology. Founder Member of the San Raffaele Implant Cultural Association (ACRIS Research Group). Member of SIMO (Società Italiana Maxillo Odontostomatologica), IAO (Italian Academy of Osseointegration), SICOI, SIDCO, and International Extraction Academy of California. Regional Referent for Molise region of SIMO. International lecturer presenting at hundreds of national and international congresses on implant dentistry and oral surgery throughout Europe, Middle East, and internationally. Instructor for hands-on courses teaching piezoelectric surgery techniques with live surgical demonstrations. Regular faculty conducting office-based courses with theoretical training and live patient surgeries.
DDS from University of L'Aquila, Italy (2007, graduated with honors 110/110 cum laude). Specialization in Oral Surgery from "Sapienza" University of Rome (2010, final grade 65/70). Postgraduate training in Endodontics with Dr. Fabio Gorni, Milan (2016). Postgraduate training in Fixed Prosthodontics with Dr. Mauro Fradeani, Pesaro (2017).
