The presentation focuses on a new Prosthetic protocol for vertical preparation of the tooth, the B.O.P.T. concept.
A new emergence profile of the crown with a finishing line at different levels allows us to interact with surrounding tissue modifying their shape and thickness for a new ideal and stable esthetic gingival architecture.
All the steps to perform B.O.P.T, from tooth preparation to the final cementation, will be analyzed with clinical cases.
Equal emphasis will be placed on principles and timing of Soft Tissue Management around implants and natural teeth within the clinical workflow.
Biodynamic Soft Tissue shaping by using a new emergence profile of the implant will be highlight.
Implant neck/connection, 3D positioning, tissue friendly emergence profiles and material choices with an in-depth analysis of the Biologic Width around an implant supported restoration will be discussed.

Abstract:
Dental caries remains a global public health burden as 44% of all people worldwide is suffering from untreated caries in primary and permanent teeth. Caries is today regarded as a preventable non-communicable disease (NCD), sharing similar biological, behavioral, socioeconomic and lifestyle risk factors with other NCD’s within the metabolic syndrome. Therefore, caries should be subjected to a similar model of chronic disease management. Caries prevention has traditionally relied on fluoride exposure, diet control, proper oral hygiene and antibacterial agents. Prevention of caries as a NCD does certainly not disqualify these methods but bring them into a new context. The lecture will give a brief overview on how these preventive measures can interfere with the drivers of dysbiosis and promote the growth of health-associated clusters in the oral microbiome. Besides the established routines of regular tooth brushing with fluoride products and fluoride varnish applications, there is an opportunity for additional technologies based on ecological principles to address and modify the oral biofilm. Methods to reduce dietary sugar, slow down plaque metabolism and support saliva functions should be further developed and investigated in terms of efficacy, compliance and cost-effectiveness.
Learning objective:
- To understand and embrace the 4D-loop (Determine, Detect, Decide and Do) for caries management and care in everyday practice.
- To practice evidence-based caries risk assessment, early caries detection, clinical decision-making followed by a personalized care plan for children.

Abstract
Today’s dentist has a wide choice of restorative materials available when replacing missing or damaged tooth structures. Since introduction in dentistry of composite resins, those materials have undergone a tremendous development and their adhesive properties on both enamel and dentin have been constantly improved, allowing a more conservative approach during the tooth preparation. Patients’ demands for a more aesthetic and metal-free restoration on posterior and anterior teeth increased during the last decade focusing the interest of the dental profession towards aesthetic restorations with composite resins. The continuous improvement of the digital CAD-CAM technology is revolutionizing the dental profession in both laboratory and dental office. Today is possible with the chair-side CAD-CAM restorations to restore teeth in a single session saving time for the patient and dentist as well. Numerous type of glass ceramic and composite block are nowadays available; partial and full crown restorations can be fabricated directly in dental office by the dentist. However, it is vital that the treating clinician have a thorough understanding of the principles that lead to a successful outcome. Naturally appearing and problem free outcome can be achieved if certain rules are followed by a conscientious operator.
