Occlusal adjustments become an issue in aesthetic cases when there is a vertical dimension lost and needs to be altered.
The aesthetic rehabilitation of a worn dentition is challenging because the clinical crowns have become shorter and the tooth length needs to be increased. Increasing the coronal length is often associated with the increase of the VDO, even though this loss of tooth structure may not automatically indicate a loss of the VDO due to a possible compensatory phenomena. To achieve the restorative, functional and aesthetic objectives, it is perhaps most important to ensure that the proposed increase in VDO will be the minimum amount necessary in either one or both arches.
In those cases the projected relation of the anterior teeth, the amount of increase of the VDO according to the aesthetics and function, the anterior/posterior shifting of the occlusion of the patient are the important details to be handled carefully.
The VDO alteration requires a thorough clinical assessments of phonetics, interocclusal distance at rest and face height, along with facial soft tissue contours.
The careful evaluation of the mock up, followed by the provisional restoration at the increased VDO through out each phase of the treatment, will appropriately test the new height for patient adaptation.
In those kind of treatment plannings, determining the new position of the occlusion, wether it is going to be kept at the MIP (maximum intercuspation), CR (centric relation) or ICP ( intercuspal position) are the crucial decisions to be made.
All these details and re-establishing the occlusion according to esthetic & functional needs will be presented in this lecture.

In this presentation we will examine current issues of aesthetics and longevity of ceramic veneers.
Main topics:
- Material selection in terms of functionality, longevity and aesthetics.
- Tooth preparation design and its effect on the strength of the veneer.
- Is there a significant difference in dental preparation between CAD / CAM and classical methods of veneer manufacturing?
- Adhesion and its effect on the longevity of a veneer / tooth bond. The principles of cementation to various tooth tissues.

Turrini
The use of all-ceramic veneers represent a valid alternative to complete crown restorations. The minimally invasive tooth preparation procedure allows the maximum preservation of health tooth structure thus guaranteeing vitality and higher overall resistance of restoration also thanks to the undeniable advantages offered by the adhesive cementation technique. Nowadays a new clinical approach based on an innovative minimally invasive prosthetic procedure (MIPP) also applicable to full crown restorations allows preservation of vitality and tooth structure.
The availability of a wide range of ceramic material permits the achievement of excellent, long lasting esthetic results mixed rehabilitation on implants.
This prosthetic treatment workflow starts with an esthetic and functional plan which allows an ideal integration of esthetics, biological and functional requirements. Classical and new digital trends will be also analyzed in depth in order to reach the final goal.

During the presentation, we will examine the correct approach to planning and communication with the laboratory. We will give attention to each step of the planning process. Furthermore, the lecture will cover the rules of preparation using optics, fixation of ceramic restorations, as well as collaboration with the laboratory. Clinical cases including detailed photo and video information will be demonstrated.

The Biologically Oriented Preparation Technique is a paradigm shift in the management of soft tissue around natural teeth and implant prosthetics.
With accurate vertical preparations and provisionals, we can sculpt the ideal ‘landing zone’ to achieve stable and long-lasting restorations.
The aim of the lecture is to introduce this new concept, which is more then just a vertical preparation. The apical and coronal movement of tissue will be demonstrated defying conventional periodontal protocols.
The B.O.P.T concept is an essential tool necessary for the aesthetic and functional rehabilitation in the aesthetic zone. Using this concept, tissue management is fast, predictable and most importantly, stable.
Using case presentations backed by the literature, a step by step protocol from functional and aesthetic planning of the provisionals, finally through to laboratory stages will be demonstrated. The B.O.P.T protocol on implant abutments is now a realty and this will also be discussed in detail.

Present-day dentistry is based on constantly evolving new generation materials which have proven ideal in the construction of veneers as well as in indirect restorations.
New generation materials are the ideal choice for indirect solutions, and yet, in order to reach their full aesthetic potential, they require precise work-flow protocols to avoid procedure mistakes and manufacturing errors.
How to avoid mistake in:
- morphology and function
- aesthetic and optical property and colour
- chipping and surface stability with time
- problem with substrate on the framework
- materials treatment for a reliable cementation
- antagonist preservation
We will focus on:
- correct material selection
- features of the new generation composite
- evolution ceramic and lithium disilicate
- last generation of zirconia
- careful blueprint design
- 2D smile design to 3D
- precise and repeatable lab procedures
- colour project and reproduction
- layering approach
Each step will be analysed by highlighting its crucial phases and the common lab mistakes which should be avoided.

Schünemann
A deep understanding of biology is the key to the success of a dental procedure. Minimally inversiv dentistry has as this application has been defined:
"A systematic respect for the original tissue."
A thorough understanding of biological principles and respect for the tissue result in a synergy to trauma patients and ultimately our treatment steps to minimize. Treatment concepts which formerly massive surgery brought with them are largely implemented today with reduced interference.
The advantages of the guided surgical planning and in the execution of various treatment scenarios; flap, miniflap access, immediate extractions, and minimally inversiv methods of bone grafting are discussed.
The Implant Prosthetics is an ever growing market. Through the use of implant> supported dentures to diverse forms of therapy for the benefit of our patients and the dental industry to arise. Additionally conquer digital solutions with the materials used in the industry. Allzirconia solutions be driven from different aspects.
Thus solutions result from zircon on implants. Where should the implants are strategically placed? We are sure all agree that these items are not always there are where sufficient bone material is to be found. We speak ideally from a "backward planning", a plan which starts at the end and is gradually being planned back. Then we note sure where and at what intervals the implants to be inserted should be placed. Where no bone is bone should be built where no gums is "padded".
The plans are step by step, create more and more digital. Meanwhile, the face scan is another digital way.
One thing is clear > the machines are only as good we those who program them and those who serve them then!
Nothing new you think now maybe true, but I suspect that a sound basic knowledge is more and more displaced to the sidelines.
The dental system involves so many incredible aspects are observed. Muscle activity, phonetics and tactile sensors all belong together in addition to fixed anatomic values. In which directions to move our muscles of mastication and what influence does it have on the planning? Or simply asked, how far away is the labial surface of the headquarters of the center of the papilla Inzisiva away?
Many aspects of complete dentures are the basis for complex solutions on implants in the edentulous patient.
