Aesthetic and functional treatment plan with a digital approach.
Designing full-mouth rehabilitations with optimum esthetics requires correct treatment planning, evaluation of a suitable ceramic material and skillful application and techniques. Today technology validly supports the clinician in the definition of an ideal treatment plan and in the optimization of time and costs. In particular the dentist can count on new digital tools guiding him/her in the step-by-step collection of all the necessary data. Selecting the ceramic material with the dental ceramist is another fundamental step in the management of complex rehabilitation cases.
Minimizing the invasiveness of prosthetics, changing the VDO, reducing the thickness of the ceramics and using appropriate adhesion procedures.
Nowadays a systematic approach based on an over 10-year experience allows the dentist to face highly compromised clinical situations with a minimally invasive prosthetic procedure. Thanks to the alteration of the of the vertical dimension of occlusion (VDO) it is possible to take advantage of the newly created space between the two arches with the result of dramatically minimizing the invasiveness of the prosthetic treatment when using veneers, full-veneers, buccal-occlusal veneers and table tops, even with very reduced ceramic thickness.
Achieving a predictable and long-term aesthetic and functional outcome of complete orthopedic rehabilitation.
This procedure also enables the clinician to re-establish an ideal occlusal relationship and avoid additional endodontic and/or surgical procedures that were traditionally necessary in order to improve the retention of the restorations. Furthermore, the maintenance of a maximum amount of enamel and the use of the appropriate bonding technique guarantee a remarkable resistance and a long-lasting result of the prosthetic rehabilitation.

Sometimes whitening a smile means to restore teeth with composite, while sometimes it means veneers, or gingival surgery, sometimes it means only bleaching teeth. We will see the bleaching strategy as the mandatory "antipasto" (starter) of an italian dinner. We use bleaching as an important part of any treatment plan. Sometimes we decide to bleach first, sometimes we restore instead and we bleach in a second stage. In other occasions we make a smile whiter using only restorative procedures. Sometimes we need gingival modifications and we do the surgery the same day we perform our restorations. Regardless of the timing of procedures, we try to be very conservative, meaning we avoid the turbine whenever possible, for example we prefer patrial composite restorations than fukk ceramic coverage. In this lecture, through the series of clinical cases presented, you will learn about our philosophy and workflow and learn some tips to apply next monday on your practice. The advantages of composites and bleaching strategies are big and if you are not taking full advantage of them you are loosing your time and money.
- Smile improvement with no preparation philosophy. Whitening the smiles with bonding techniques.
- Whitening the smiles with other procedures like teeth whitening or gingival surgery.
- The treatment planning are the key of success.
- Let's see our daily problems!
- Composite world:
1) How to choose the composite.
2) How to choose the stratification technique (single mass vs. dual technique vs. other techniques)
3) How to create the perfect contact points
4) How to polish and finish composites to make them look awesome
Not only composites:
- Bleaching as the starter of our treatment plans
- Crown lengthening as the first dish
- BIR (Bleach Infiltrate and Restore) techniques
- Orthodontics - cosmetic dentist communication: pre - restorations and the RBR (Restore, Bleach, Restore)
